Ways to donate to us

ADSHG
  • You can make an immediate donation to the ADSHG's work, through any of our our online giving pages. ADSHG is registered with a number of reputable online giving agencies, listed below. You can chose to make your donation to either of the two purposed appeals the charity maintains, or to make a general donation to our work.

All donations, no matter how large or small, are much appreciated and valued by the ADSHG and go towards funding our work to support members and people with adrenal insufficiency and towards promoting better understanding of this rare condition amongst health professionals.

Here are some the things that past donors have commented about why they are supporting our charity:

“The booklets on the website helped to educate the school about Addison’s…”

“I have had Addison’s for forty years and my eldest daughter for sixteen years and we both find the newsletter very interesting and informative. A BIG THANK YOU.”

Many people approach us wishing to donate towards medical research into Addison's, with the hope that this will assist others to obtain a smoother diagnosis or better clinical care in future. Making a general donation towards the group can benefit medical research, as the ADSHG regularly provides support to leading endocrine researchers, primarily by assisting them with recruiting patients for their studies. You can read more about how the charity's general activities support medical research in this article. The ADSHG also provides direct grant funding to medical researchers investigating Addison's, as you can read in this article.

Our appeal strands are:

  • General donations page - this appeal funds our day-to-day work which includes providing support to members with Addison's disease through meetings, publications and our newsletter and promoting better understanding of this rare conditions amongst health professionals.
  • Emergency injection video appeal - this appeal is to fund our video education series, which provide vital information and emergency injection techniques and other information relevant to people with adrenal insufficiency. These modular videos have been launched online; the charity aims to extend this educational series further with new modules tentatively planned for late 2017 or early 2018.
  • Medical research grant fund - this appeal is to provide funds for support for applied medical research and the advancement of good clinical and nursing practice.

If you are considering raising funds for ADSHG alongside a second charity, you may wish to consider an appeal page on Virgin Money Giving. Virgin Money Giving allows you to nominate two charities and will split donations at source and forward half the amount to each of the two nominated charities, as well as any Gift Aid offered by the donor.

ADSHG is also registered with BT MyDonate.

If you wish to make a memorial donation as part of a funeral or cremation service, ADSHG is also registered with Memory Giving.

If you wish to make a donation towards the ADSHG's work as a bank-to-bank transfer rather than through our Just Giving and similar web giving appeal pages, please contact the group on donations@addisons.org.uk

“… always grateful for the information in your newsletters, and for your different language emergency letters for holidays. Thank you again for your group’s invaluable help.”

"Our grandson has Addison's which has changed all of our family's lives. Please accept this gift and good health to you all".

"I don't know what we'd do without ADSHG. Thank you"

The charity does not engage third party fundraisers. Neither does it operate street collection or door-to-door collections. We do not encourage any of our volunteer fundraisers to consider street or door-to-door collections, as our rare condition and small charity have limited public recognition.

ADSHG adheres to the Code of Fundraising Practice and is registered with the Fundraising Regulator.
